What is Picmori?

Picmori is a free photo cleaner for iPhone and Android that plays like a game. Your gallery becomes a world map: each chapter on the road is a short session of photos from your own library, where you swipe right to keep and left to delete. Mori, a purple ghost, walks the map with you. Along the way you earn XP, open chests and find out which gallery hero you are. All analysis happens on your phone, and your photos are never uploaded.

Is Picmori free?

Yes. Picmori is free to download and use, with no ads and no account. The free version has no daily limit: you can play as many sessions and delete as many photos as you like. The only waits are short pauses after chapters on the map (from 1 to 30 minutes). Optional Premium removes the pauses, lets a free mode session run past 25 photos, and lets you play the Premium points on the map, which hand out extra review modes and tools. It comes as a subscription (weekly, or yearly with a free trial) or as a one-time Lifetime purchase; prices are shown in the app before you pay.

Why do some sites say Picmori has a daily deletion limit or finds blurry photos?

They describe older versions. Until version 4.0 (September 2026) the free version had a daily limit on deleted photos, and older descriptions said Picmori found blurry or similar-looking photos. Today Picmori has no daily limit and no ads. It groups exact copies and burst shots on your phone and suggests the shot to keep by resolution, file size and favourites; it does not detect blurry photos or judge how a photo looks. In the stores it is listed as Picmori: Photo Cleaner (App Store) and Picmori: Gallery Cleaner (Google Play). Every change is listed in the version history.

Is Picmori related to picmori.com?

No. Picmori, the photo cleaner game for iPhone and Android, lives at picmori.org and is made by Aleksandrs Vozņarskis, an independent developer in Latvia. The website picmori.com is an unrelated photo story project and has nothing to do with this app or its developer.

How does the adventure map work?

The map has 10 worlds after a short tutorial, each with its own chapters, chest and 8-bit tune. Every chapter is a level built from your own gallery: photos from one year, one colour, your heaviest files and so on. Sorted photos give XP, levels move you along the road, and a finished world opens a chest with rewards, such as new looks for Mori. New tools and review modes open as you go.

What review modes are there?

Outside the map you can start a review in one of 8 modes:

• Your own (free): you choose photos or videos, the order and the period, and more options open as you level up. The colour, time of day and file size filters come with Premium.
• Discover (free): photos from different years, mixed up.
• Recent (free, opens at level 31): newest photos first.
• Duplicates (Premium): only groups of matching shots.
• Screenshots (Premium): only screenshots and saved images, heaviest first.
• Quick Cleanup (Premium): your heaviest files and duplicates first.
• One Day in the Past (Premium): one day from an earlier year, morning to night.
• Then and Now (Premium): the same date across different years.

Each Premium mode needs Premium and is handed out at its own Premium point on the map.

What is a gallery hero?

Picmori looks at how you keep your photos (how many screenshots, videos, duplicates and years your library holds) and matches your gallery with one of 8 characters, such as the Screenshot Hamster or the Lord of Clones. This happens on your phone and only tailors tips and messages; every deletion stays your decision.

Does Picmori upload my photos to a server?

No. All photo analysis, including duplicate detection, runs on your phone, and your photos are never uploaded, stored or shared with any server. Picmori does use pseudonymous analytics and crash reports to improve the app, only with your permission; these never receive your photos and can be turned off in Settings. RevenueCat, which handles purchases, receives basic statistics on how the purchase screens are used regardless of that choice. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Does Picmori collect any data or use tracking?

Your photos never leave your phone. From version 4.0, Picmori uses no advertising tracking and collects no advertising identifier. To improve the app it uses pseudonymous analytics (Firebase Analytics) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), and RevenueCat manages purchases and receives basic statistics on how the purchase screens are used, whether or not you allow analytics. None of these ever receive your photos. Firebase analytics and crash reports run only with your permission: the app asks once, and you can change your answer anytime in Profile → Settings → General → Analytics & Crash Reports (in version 3.9 and earlier: Settings → Data Management). How does Picmori find duplicate photos?

On your phone, Picmori groups exact copies (same file size, dimensions and type, confirmed with a fingerprint of the image) and burst shots taken seconds apart. During Premium sessions it also finds repeated screenshots. A badge on the card shows that a group is nearby; tap it and the group opens side by side, with a suggested shot to keep, picked by resolution, file size and your favourites. Picmori does not group photos that merely look alike, and it does not detect blurry photos.

How do I delete duplicate photos on iPhone?

1. Install Picmori and allow access to your photos.
2. Start a chapter or a review: duplicate groups show up in it with a badge. With Premium, the Duplicates mode brings only groups.
3. Open a group, keep the best shot and mark the rest.
4. Confirm at the end of the session. iOS asks you once more and moves the photos to Recently Deleted, where they can be recovered for about 30 days.

How do I delete duplicate photos on Android?

4. Confirm at the end of the session. Android asks you once more and then deletes the photos permanently, so back up first.

Can Picmori find screenshots and large videos?

Yes. The Screenshots mode brings only screenshots and saved images, heaviest first, and Quick Cleanup starts with your heaviest files, large videos included. Both are Premium modes. In the free version you can filter a review to videos only once you reach level 26.

Which platforms does Picmori support?

• iPhone and iPad: iOS 16.0 or later, App Store

Are photos deleted with Picmori recoverable?

Nothing is deleted while you swipe: photos are only marked, and you confirm the deletion at the end of the session. After that it depends on the platform. On iPhone and iPad the photos go to the Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for about 30 days. On Android the system asks you to confirm and deletes them permanently; they do not go to a Trash folder. Keep a backup of photos that matter to you.

Will deleting photos in Picmori also remove them from iCloud or Google Photos?

It can. If cloud sync is on, deleting a photo from your library may also delete it from iCloud Photos or Google Photos, depending on the service's settings. On iPhone, the photo stays recoverable from Recently Deleted for about 30 days; on Android, a photo deleted with Picmori is removed from the phone permanently.

How much storage can I free up?

It depends on your library. Duplicates, screenshots and old videos usually take the most space, and a single video can take hundreds of megabytes. Picmori shows the space freed during each session, on each chapter of the map and in total on your profile.

Does Picmori require an account?

No. Picmori works without any account, sign-up or email. Install it, allow access to your photos and start cleaning. Your progress is stored on your phone.

Does Picmori work offline?

Yes, sorting and cleaning run on your phone. You need a connection only to buy or restore Premium, and on iPhone to load photos whose originals are stored only in iCloud.
